President Samia Suluhu Hassan has congratulated Kenya’s President elect, William Ruto following the decision of the Supreme Court of Kenya to uphold his win as the 5th President.
Using her verified Twitter handle @SuluhuSamia, the Head of State sent her congratulatory message through her official social media accounts on Tuesday adding that she looks forward to working with him.
“I’m looking forward to working with you to strengthen the historic bond and cooperation between our two nations,” the President tweeted.
The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a petition by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga that challenged the declaration of Dr Ruto as President-elect after the August 9 General Election.
According to Kenya’s constitution, the President-elect is to be sworn in seven days after the Supreme Court upholding the election victory which will be on the 13 of September, Tuesday
Kenya held their General Election on the 8th of August this year and on the 15th of the same month the President elect, Ruto was announced as winner by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
