President Samia appoints dons to chair TARI, NIT boards

President Samia Suluhu Hassan has appointed Dr Andrew Massawe as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI).

According to a statement released by the Director of Presidential Communications, Zuhura Yunus, on Wednesday, Dr Massawe is replacing Dr Tausi Kida, who has been appointed as Permanent Secretary at the President’s Office (Investment).

According to the statement, Dr Massawe’s appointment is effective from 2nd April, this year.

The Head of State has also appointed Prof Ulingeta Mbamba as the Chairman of National Institute of Transport (NIT) Governing Council.

Prof Mbamba is taking over from Prof Blasius Nyichomba whose tenure has expired.

His appointment is effective from March 29, this year.
