ZANZIBAR: THE President of Zanzibar Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi has extended an invitation to investors from the United Kingdom to invest in Zanzibar across various sectors rich in development potential.
These sectors include the blue economy, tourism, marine transport, fisheries, energy, and digital infrastructure.
Dr. Mwinyi made the call during a meeting with directors of various business and economic institutions from the UK, held at a networking dinner organized by the Eastern Africa Association.

During the discussions, President Mwinyi highlighted that Zanzibar’s economy has continued to grow at a rapid pace, recording over 7 percent growth in the past four years—thanks to significant investments in various key sectors.
He also encouraged the investors to seize opportunities in seaweed farming, noting that Zanzibar is the leading producer of seaweed in Africa, with the global market for the product continuing to expand rapidly.
President Mwinyi assured the investors of a favorable business and investment environment in Zanzibar, and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to strengthening economic cooperation between Zanzibar and the United Kingdom for the mutual benefit of both sides.
