President Samia Suluhu Hassan has mourned the death of the former Zanzibar Electoral Commission (ZEC) chairman, Jecha Salim Jecha, who passed away on Tuesday.
Mr Jecha died at the Lugalo Hospital in Dar es Salaam where he was receiving treatments.
According to a statement issued by the Director of Presidential Communication, Zuhura Yunus, the Head of State extended her condolences to the family, relatives and friends affected by the loss of their loved one.
Meanwhile, President Samia also sent her deepest condolences to the family of the late third phase President, Benjamin William Mkapa following the death of his elder brother, Benard Mkapa.
She asked the family members to be calm and take heart during this difficult period.
