PPPC meets digital journalists to implement President’s directive

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Executive Director of the Public-Private Partnership Centre (PPPC), David Kafulila, has begun implementing President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s directive by meeting with digital journalists and social media content creators to build a shared understanding of the implementation of Tanzania’s National Development Vision 2050.
The strategic meeting was held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at the PPPC offices in Dar es Salaam.

Kafulila’s meeting with digital media journalists came just one day after President Samia announced, during the launch of the implementation instruments for Vision 2050 at the State House in Dar es Salaam, that the country had entered the implementation phase and that “the time for talk is over.”
During the meeting, Kafulila said the engagement with owners and journalists of digital platforms was intended to implement the President’s direct instruction for public institutions to educate citizens about the opportunities available under Vision 2050 while countering misinformation that could undermine its objectives.
“To achieve the goal of building an economy capable of producing goods and services worth US$1 trillion over the next 25 years (2026–2050), there must be genuine collaboration between the government, the private sector, the media, and the public,” Kafulila said.
President Samia emphasized the critical role of the private sector, stating that it has effectively been entrusted with the country’s future and is expected to drive 70 percent of the implementation of Vision 2050 over the next 25 years.
“The private sector has been entrusted with approximately 70 percent of the implementation of this Vision over the next 25 years,” the President said.
