Police officers boost blood bank in Kigoma

KIGOMA: POLICE officers from Kigoma region participated in the blood donation exercise held at Maweni Hospital in the region, as part of their contribution to supporting the community during this Lenten and Ramadhan period.

The exercise was carried out in collaboration between the Police Force and healthcare workers, aiming to assist patients in need of blood, especially pregnant women, children, and accident victims.

Speaking during the event, the Kigoma Regional Police Commander, SACP Filemon Makungu, said this initiative is part of the Police Force’s social responsibility to help save the lives of citizens.

On his part, the Regional Hospital’s Chief Medical Officer, Stanley Binagi, commended the officers for their efforts and urged other residents to come forward and donate blood, as the demand remains high.

“We thank our officers for their love and selflessness in helping save the lives of our patients,” he said.
