Police nab U.S. Army soldier with four hand grenades

TARIME: A U.S.A. Army soldier with dual American and Kenyan citizenship, identified as Sergeant Charles Onkuri Ongeta, was found in possession of four CS M68 hand grenades.

The information was released by the Tarime–Rorya Regional Police, who stated that the suspect was entering Tanzania from Kenya in a Toyota Land Cruiser with registration number KDP 502 Y.

According to the statement, under Tanzania’s firearms regulations, importing grenades of this kind is strictly prohibited, even if the individual had applied for an official permit.

Security and defense authorities are continuing to gather evidence and interrogate the suspect so that appropriate legal action can be taken against him.
