RUKWA: TWO people have died in different events in Rukwa Region among them is an 80 years old woman who was murdered by her three grandchildren accusing her for bewitching to death her three great grandchildren.
The grandmother identified as Alesi Kisulo (80) and her three grandchildren are residents of Kamyazya village in Sumbawanga District. Updating the journalists over the weekend the Regional Police Commander (RPC) Mr Shadrack Masijo said the three suspects have been arrested for allegedly killing their grandmother.
He named the trio suspects as Mussa Mwananjelwa (30), Regnus Edward (25) and Ezia Danilius (30).
“The trio grandchildren armed with stones, ambushed their grandmother who was on the way back home from her farm field, they pushed her down and crushed her head to death,” added the RPC. On the other incident the RPC Masijo confirmed that the staff of NMB, Nkasi Branch in Nkasi District, John Maduhu (32) committed suicide by hanging himself to death.
According to RPC, the deceased used the rope and hanged himself to death in his room at Majengo area in Namanyere town. The RPC said the body of the deceased was found hanging in his room on May 10th this year adding that officers are investigating the matter.
“The motive behind his death is yet to be established as he left behind no written message,” he explained. The Majengo Street Chairperson Mr William Katutu said that some NMB staff alerted over the disappearance from work and public of their fellow staff (Maduhu).

“We went to his house where he was the sole occupant. Through the window of his room, we saw his body hanging on the rope it was around 9:00 am on May 10, this year, then we reported the matter to police officers,” said one of the staff members.
Acting NMB, Nkasi Branch Manager Mr Marijani James also confirmed the incident but he declined to explain more saying he was not a spokesperson.
