Police donate humanitarian aids to patients at Nyamagana Hospital

MWANZA: NYAMAGANA District Police Force in Mwanza region has continued to strengthen its relationship with the community by carrying out acts of compassion, including providing assistance to patients receiving treatment at the Nyamagana District Hospital.
Speaking today during the handover of 50 bedsheets and 50 mosquito nets at the Nyamagana District Hospital, The Head of Nyamagana District Police Force, Ms Virginia Sodoka, said the main objective of providing the assistance is to provide comfort to patients and show them that the community cares about them during the period they are going through.
Ms Sodoka said the Police force officers have decided to donate part of their salaries and use the money to purchase various equipment to help patients and the hospital in general.
She said the assistance was provided in collaboration with the hospital management, explaining that it is part of the Police Force’s approach to reaching out to the community and participating in beneficial actions for the citizens.
“We have come to provide comfort to the patients. We have donated and given part of our salaries to come and provide comfort to the patients,” she said
According to Ms Sodoka, the assistance provided includes 50 sheets and 50 mosquito nets worth more than 1.3m/-.
In addition, She said the Police force will continue to collaborate with the community by reaching out and helping various groups, especially people with special needs.
Ms Sodoka said the procedure will continue to be carried out in various areas, including children’s centers, elderly centers and other areas where there are people who need help and comfort.

“The Police force will continue to reach out to the community and carry out acts of compassion. We will continue to reach out to the community in centers for children, the elderly and people with special needs,” he said.
She added that these actions are part of the Police Force’s efforts to build good relations with the public and participate directly in activities aimed at improving social welfare.
On his side Nyamagana District Hospital Acting medical officer , Mr Abel Toas has greatly thanked the Nyamagana District Police Force for their support.
