He emphasised the importance of unity and peace among Tanzanians.

“Today, I don’t regret my decision to serve the church for 52 years as a priest and 25 years as a bishop. I appeal to all Tanzanians to remain united, maintain the prevailing peace and not allow religious or political differences to divide us, as we are all children of one God,” he said.

In an interview with the ‘Daily News,’ Bishop Kilaini revealed that despite his grandparents’ aspirations for him to become an engineer or medical practitioner, he chose to dedicate his life to the church.

His spiritual journey began despite being raised in a non-Catholic family
