Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has officiated a Tanzania-Korea business forum at Mondrian Hotel in Seoul, Korea this morning.
Speaking at the forum, the Premier explained to the business community that Tanzania has a lot of investment opportunities as he welcomed them in the country to utilize the available resources.
Mr Kassim Majaliwa is in Seoul for a three-day working trip to the country as Dar es Salaam seeks to strengthen its economic diplomacy ties with the Asian country.
On the first day, the Prime Minister visited the SGR wagon construction site in Korea and was satisfied by Sung Shin Rolling Stock (SSRT) company which has been commissioned to construct wagons for Tanzania’s SGR project.
However, on the 26th he witnessed a cooperation agreement signed between the MSD and the provincial government of Chungcheongbuk in South Korea and reaffirmed to Tanzania the government’s commitment of improving drugs, medical reagents and equipment by advancing activities of the Medical Stores Department (MSD).
As part of strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries, Mr Majaliwa also witnessed the signing of loan agreements between Tanzania and South Korea, where Tanzania was provided with a 310bn/- soft loan Tanzania for the expansion of the National Identification Authority (NIDA) system and development and maintenance of land information coordination
