PM lauds Taifa Stars for AFCON 2023 performance

DODOMA: Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has lauded the country’s senior football team Taifa Stars for good performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals hosted by Ivory Coast.

Speaking at the Parliament in Dodoma on Friday, Majaliwa said despite Taifa Stars’ failure to reach in the knockout phase of AFCON, their performance was admirable.

“They performed well especially in their two games in group F which had Morocco, DR Congo and Zambia.

“I congratulate all the players, technical bench and all those who in one way or the other contributed for the team’s success,” he said.

He adds: “I believe our national teams will continue to train hard to represent us well and give pride to Tanzanians plus making good reputation of our country.”

The PM also urged the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) to continue maintaining good cooperation with sports stakeholders.
