KILIMANJARO: PRIME Minister Kassim Majaliwa has directed the Minister for Health, Ms Jenista Mhagama and other officials in the ministry to meet and review requirements for upgrading Mama Ngoma Health Centre into hospital.
The health centre is located in Mwakoa Ward, Mwanga District, Kilimanjaro Region. Mr Majaliwa made the directives on Tuesday shortly after launching the health centre where he commended the investor, Professor Twalib Ngoma for spending over 5bn/- in construction of modern buildings and installation of sophisticated medical equipment at the facility.
In that regard, he underlined the importance of the government’s support to the investor by upgrading the health centre into hospital.
“Finalise the required procedures so that the health centre can be elevated into hospital. Make sure you collaborate with him, if there is any issue for review,” Mr Majaliwa said.
He added: “Prof Ngoma has been doing a very incredible job of complementing the government’s efforts in advancing services to Tanzanians.”

The Premier assured the investor of continued support. “You told me that you are also planning to establish a nursing college, keep up with such arrangements, add more creativity and services. The government will support you,” he said.
In a related development, Mr Majaliwa inspected the progress of the Mwanga District Council’s administration building project being implemented at a cost of 3.7bn/-.
He ordered government leaders in the district to ensure the project is completed on time.
Furthermore, he demanded ward councillors and district councils across the country to ensure all development projects which are in final stages are completed before August this year.
Mr Majaliwa on Tuesday concluded his one-day visit by addressing Usangi residents at a rally in Mwanga.
He urged citizens to continue trusting President Samia Suluhu Hassan who throughout her four years in office has been demonstrating unwavering commitment to improving Tanzanians’ living standards by completing development projects.
