PM calls on Tanzanians to continue praying for the late Lukuvi

DODOMA: PRIME Minister Mwigulu Nchemba has called on Tanzanians to continue praying for the late William Lukuvi, who served as Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (Policy, Parliament, Coordination, and Persons with Disabilities) and passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Benjamin Mkapa Hospital in Dodoma.

Speaking on behalf of the government at the late minister’s home in Area D, Dodoma, Thursday, March 26, 2026, the Prime Minister said: “On behalf of the government, I extend my condolences to the family, relatives, and friends. This is a heavy loss, difficult to understand, and hard to accept. But it has come upon us, and we were all unprepared as the honourable minister was still at work. Let us continue to pray to God and comfort the family. May God strengthen them, for He is the ultimate comforter.”

Dr Mwigulu also assured the family that the government will continue to stand with them throughout this period of mourning.

Several other leaders attended the condolence visit, including Deputy Speaker Daniel Siro, Minister of State in the Vice President’s Office (Union and Environment) Hamad Masauni, Minister of State in the President’s Office (Public Service Management and Good Governance) Ridhiwani Kikwete, Dodoma Regional Commissioner Rosemary Senyamule, and Arusha Regional Administrative Secretary, Dr Toba Nguvila.
