Pinda to open Eastern Zone Nanenane Exhibitions
FORMER Prime Minister Mizengo Pinda is today expected to open this year’s Eastern Zone’s Nanenane Exhibitions to be held in Morogoro Region, Coast Regional Commissioner Aboubakar Kunenge has said.
The annual event which starts today countrywide is nationally held in Mbeya Region.
Speaking in Kibaha Town over the weekend, RC Kunenge mentioned that currently a total of 589 stakeholders from four regions of Dar es Salaam, Tanga, Coast and Morogoro have confirmed to participate in the exhibitions.
“There are already 589 stakeholders who have confirmed to participate in the exhibitions. This is equivalent to 22 per cent increase compared to 476 stakeholders who participated last year,” he explained.
He went on to say that the four regions have made preparations to invest in the areas of agriculture, livestock and fisheries.
“Our aim is to make Eastern Zone champion of food production in the country, and we have all the resources which we need to meet our goal,” he said.
He took time to welcome all farmers and residents from the four regions and across the country to visit the exhibitions and learn modern technologies applicable in agriculture, livestock and fisheries areas.
This year’s theme for Nanenane celebrations is ‘Youths and Women are Strong Foundation for Sustainable Food Systems’.
