PCCB among top 10 most responsive public institutions on digital platforms

DAR ES SALAAM: Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB) has been listed among the top 10 most responsive public institutions on digital platforms.

The anti-corruption watchdog, along with nine other institutions, was recognized as one of the most responsive government bodies during the ‘Stories of Change 2024’ gala, held over the weekend in Dar es Salaam where the PCCB received the ‘Champion of Citizen Engagement’ award.

The competition, organized by JamiiForums in partnership with key accountability public and non-governmental organizations, aimed to recognize and reward citizen journalists for their most innovative stories that offer solutions for the betterment of the country.

Mexence Meelo, JamiiForums Director, noted that the PCCB and other institutions have been particularly active in responding to inquiries from platform users and taking actions to enhance accountability within public offices.

In addition to the PCCB, other institutions recognised at the well-attended event included the University of Dodoma (UDOM), TANESCO, DAWASA, Ubungo Municipal Council, the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development, and the National Environment Management Council (NEMC).

Meanwhile, Minister for Community Development, Gender, Women, and Special Groups, Dr Dorothy Gwajima, was named JamiiForums’ Champion of Citizen Engagement.
