Pamba smell of Premier League return

PAMBA Assistant Coach Godfrey Chappa has applauded his squad after their 1-0 victory over Ndanda in their Championship League match at Nangwanda Sijaona Stadium in Mtwara over the weekend.

The match’s solitary goal was netted by Rogers Gabriel in the 5th minute of the match. Speaking after the match, Chappa said his team deserved the victory because his players were following his instructions.

He said his players really needed the victory due to the fact that they still aim to earn a Premier League promotion.

Chapa, the former Mbao and Mwanza Combine coach, said he now focuses on winning their upcoming matches.

“The match was very difficult; our opponents were playing with great force. But they made one mistake and we punished them,” he said.

He thanked the Mwanza football fraternity for their wholehearted and unflinching support whenever their team is playing.

Pamba will now play their next match against Green Warriors at Major General Isamuhyo Stadium on Saturday.

They have now remained with seven matches only.

At Nyamagana Stadium in Mwanza, Pamba will play against Kitayosce FC on April 1st, Mashujaa FC on April 15th  before later facing Fountain Gate and JKT Tanzania.

In the away venues, they will play against African Sports at Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga before playing against Green Warriors.

On his side Pamba skipper Shabaan William said the match against Ndanda is over and they will now put much focus to win their remaining games.

Pamba are now placed third with 44 points after playing 21 matches.

They have won 14 and lost five matches.

Pamba, the former Tanzania football giants, have netted 26 and conceded sixteen goals.
