Over 70 businesses register for Expo 2025 in Osaka

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA Trade Development Authority (Tantrade) has announced said that more than 70 business people have registered for Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan.

The expo, which will run from April 13 to October 13 this year, is expected to offer a prime opportunity to showcase Tanzania’s development and opportunities across various sectors.

Tantrade Senior Business Officer, Mr Deo Shayo, confirmed that registration numbers are increasing daily, with businesses signing up online for different sessions and programmes.

As the official coordinator of Tanzania’s participation, Tantrade aims to highlight key sectors including health, energy, mining, tourism, agriculture, the blue economy and the government’s efforts to foster investment and business growth.

Mr Shayo emphasised that Tanzania’s participation aims to promote its abundant resources, strengthen global economic ties and attract investment.

He noted that Expo 2025 will serve as a crucial platform to build international partnerships and increase awareness of the country’s modernisation efforts.

“Expo 2025 offers Tanzania a unique chance to showcase its culture, heritage and natural resources to a global audience, boosting visibility and attracting tourists and investors,” said Mr Shayo.

He added that engaging with global businesses at the Expo will help foster trade relationships, promote exports and secure foreign direct investment, benefiting sectors like agriculture, tourism and manufacturing.

Additionally, the Expo provides an opportunity for cultural exchange, showcasing Tanzania’s traditions and innovations and strengthening diplomatic ties with other nations.
