KAGERA: POLICE in Kagera Region are investigating two separate accidents that occurred on Tuesday in Bukoba District.
The Kagera Regional Police Commander, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SACP) Blasius Chatanda, explained that the first accident occurred on Tuesday morning at Izimbya market in Bukoba DC.
He said a semi-trailer lorry rammed into two hiaces that were parked at Izimbya market.

One person, identified as Juma Swesweta (40), was killed on the spot, while 10 others sustained injuries and were admitted to Izimbya hospital in stable condition. One patient has been referred to Bukoba Regional Referral Hospital for further treatment.
The RPC attributed the accident to brake failure of the semi-trailer. He said another accident happened on Tuesday morning at Kashura hill, a few kilometers from Bukoba Municipal, involving a Land Cruiser with registration number T 628 DHM, which collided head-on with a Coaster minibus with registration number T 117 EBD.
Seven people, including a three-year-old child, sustained injuries and were admitted to Bukoba Regional Referral Hospital in stable condition.
