Ntibanzokiza’s glut ignites new golden boot race

Simba’s player Saidi Ntibazonkiza is just one goal away from catching up the Premier League’s current top goal scorer Fiston Mayele.

The Burundian has scored five goals to help the Reds defeat Polisi Tanzania 6-1 at Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday evening.

He has now netted 15 goals to his name against 16 goals pumped in by his Young Africans counterpart.

Mayele is searching to claim a double golden boot accord this term after picking one in the CAF Confederation Cup for scoring seven goals.

This means the battle for the golden boot chase is wide open and will be determined on Friday when last fixtures of the season will be played.

Meanwhile, Polisi Tanzania have officially been relegated to the championship league.

They join Ruvu Shooting who were the first team to be swallowed by the relegation jaws.
