NSSF awarded service quality certificate

KILIMANJARO: THE National Social Security Fund (NSSF) has been awarded the ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System Certificate by the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS), a step aimed at enhancing the quality of services provided to members, employers and stakeholders.
The certificate was issued after NSSF completed the verification and certification process of its quality management system, laying the foundation for continued improvement in performance, accountability and efficiency in service delivery.

Speaking during the national launch of Customer Service Week 2026 in Kilimanjaro, the Regional Commissioner of Kilimanjaro, Nurdin Babu, commended NSSF for the achievement, saying it demonstrates the efforts being made by the Fund to ensure continued improvement in service delivery.
Babu also urged employers with outstanding contribution arrears to take advantage of the Government’s waiver of penalties to settle their debts and continue fulfilling their obligation to pay contributions on time.
NSSF Director General, Masha Mshomba, said the Fund completed the process of obtaining the ISO 9001:2015 Certificate by June 2026, as part of efforts to ensure its services are delivered to high standards.
“This certificate demonstrates the Fund’s commitment to maintaining quality services and accountability. I therefore take this opportunity to commend TBS for the great work they did to facilitate the acquisition of this certificate, as well as all NSSF employees,” said Mshomba.
He said NSSF had also made progress in member registration, contribution collection, investment, payment of benefits and the use of ICT.
According to Mshomba, the Fund’s value increased from Sh9.8 trillion in June 2025 to Sh11.42 trillion in June 2026, representing a 16 percent increase.
He added that the average time taken to process and pay benefits had declined from 63 days in 2021 to 19 days in the 2025/26 financial year.
He said the use of digital systems has continued to simplify services for members and employers, who can now access various services online without having to visit NSSF offices.
