THE number of weekly winners in the ongoing NMB MastaBata reward campaign has now reached 608 after the lender held the eighth round of the weekly draws at the weekend in Mtwara where prizes worth 10m/- were won.

During the raffle to pick the new batch of winners, the cash and motorcycle prizes rewarded every week went to 76 customers of the most successful bank in the country and the local champion of digital finance.

Speaking before the draw held at the NMB Mtwara Branch, the bank’s Southern Zone Manager, Ms Janeth Shango, said 75 customers pocketed 100,000/- each while the luckiest of them all won a Boxer motorcycle.

In the previous seven weekly draws, 525 winners scooped cash prizes worth 52.5m/- and the luckiest seven won seven motorcycles whose current market value is put at about 21m/-.

“Like its predecessors, the primary objective of the MastaBata Kote-Kote campaign is to encourage and motivate our customers to use NMB MasterCard and NMB Mastercard QR when making payments and purchasing goods and services online or at points of sale,” she said.

She said the NMB MastaBata digital payment promotions are also used to reward loyal customers of the bank and implement the lender’s policy of sharing part of its profits with the communities where it does business.

NMB Bank Plc debuted the MastaBata campaign series in 2018 to principally promote increased use of its debit, credit and prepaid cards in line with the national digital finance drive which seeks to create a less cash economy and a cashless society.

Ms Shango said the fourth edition of the NMB MastaBata campaign was launched in October last year and is set to come to the end this month.

Apart from weekly draws in which so far 608 winners have won prizes worth some 84m/-, the over 300m/- competition also has had two monthly raffles whereby 98 customers won 1m/- each and four won a Boxer each.

The value of the monthly prizes won by the 102 customers amounts to some 110m/-. NMB MastaBata Kote-Kote is expected to end before the end of this month with a grand finale in which the top prize will be a four-day trip to Dubai for seven winners and their partners.

At the weekend’s event, the seventh draw Boxer winner, Mtwara policewoman Husna Juma Baraka received her prize. There now remains two weekly draws before MastaBata Kote-Kote ends.
