NMB extends support to Dodoma schools

NMB Bank has donated various items worth 43m/- to primary and secondary schools in Dodoma Region to support government efforts in improving the learning environment.

Dodoma Regional Commissioner, Ms Rosemary Senyamule said at the handover event of the donation on Wednesday that NMB Bank has lightened the burden for the citizens by addressing the areas that are of utmost importance to them.

“NMB Bank has relieved the burden of these citizens and the government. You have touched on areas that are our priority. On behalf of the government, I say thank you very much, and don’t lose heart in looking at Chamwino and Dodoma as a whole because you could have chosen other areas, but you chose us,” Ms Senyamule said.

The RC hailed NMB for the support that has been proving in her region, particularly in the education and health sectors, which are the government’s main priorities.

Some of the items donated included corrugated iron sheets, timber, nails, chairs, tables, and cabinets.

The donated materials, collectively valued at 43m/-, were distributed to Mizengo Pinda Primary School, Chinangali Primary School, Dabalo Primary School, Makangwa Secondary School, and Chamwino District Hospital.

NMB Bank has also pledged to further support the efforts of the community, particularly those individuals who are initiating projects through their efforts.

NMB Bank Central Zone Manager Ms Janeth Shango stated that the bank plans to give back to the community with the profits they make.

Ms Shango emphasized their commitment to prioritise the fields of health and education, while also promoting environmental conservation through tree planting initiatives.

She further explained that NMB allocates one per cent of its profits to be reinvested in the community.

This year, they have set aside 4bn/- for educational projects in primary and secondary schools, as well as for the purchase of beds in hospitals and health centres.

“Having received the request to support the health and education sector in Chamwino, we were excited and immediately began implementation as we believe supporting our community is a great reason why we are having a great performance as a financial institution,” she said.

Chamwino District Commissioner, Ms Gift Msuya expressed gratitude for the bank’s significant support in reaching areas that were previously inaccessible.

She highlighted NMB Bank as a reliable and secure institution that citizens can rely on, urging them to open accounts and reap the benefits of the bank’s generated profits.

“NMB Bank’s commitment to the community through various initiatives has solidified its position as a trusted partner in the development of education, health, and environmental sustainability in Dodoma,” the DC said.
