DAR ES SALAAM: NMB Bank has stated that deposit mobilisation campaign reflects its commitment to enhancing a savings culture and promoting financial inclusion nationwide.
The Bank’s Chief Retail Officer, Mr Filbert Mponzi, made the statement in Dar es Salaam over the weekend during the grand draw to reward customers who won the deposit and mobilisation campaign.
“Our campaign not only promoted a savings culture but also advanced financial inclusion across Tanzania. As a bank, we are committed to bridging the unbanked gap,” he said.
The three-month ‘Bonge la Mpango’ deposit and mobilisation campaign ran under the slogan ‘Mchongo Nd’o Huu’ and was part of NMB Bank’s concerted efforts to promote the culture of savings amongst Tanzanians.
During the draw, Santa Claus came early for Dar es Salaam resident, Dr Dennis Rwegasira, who won a Christmas gift of a lifetime after securing 100m/-.

Mr Mponzi reiterated the bank’s commitment to continue playing a leading role in promoting the financial inclusion agenda.

In Tanzania, the proliferation of mobile money services has significantly increased financial inclusion, with over half of the population now having access to financial services through mobile banking.
