Ndejembi begins his Vice Presidency duties with a call for accountability

DODOMA: VICE President Deogratius Ndejembi has urged staff at the Office of the Vice-President, Union and Environment to increase their commitment and accountability and abandon routine approaches to work to ensure government responsibilities are implemented efficiently and on time.

The Vice-President made the call today,August 31, 2026,  during his first visit to the Office of the Vice-President (Union and Environment), located in Mtumba, Dodoma, where he was received by employees and the ministry’s management.

He stressed the importance of changing attitudes and approaches to work, calling on every employee to be innovative and develop plans aimed at delivering tangible results for citizens and the nation as a whole.

The Vice-President urged staff to use their positions to provide valuable services to Tanzanians and recognise the responsibility entrusted to them in serving the public.

He also called on them to change their mindsets and ways of thinking, embrace innovation and ensure that plans put in place deliver tangible benefits and positive results in various activities undertaken in the wider national interest.

He further urged officials to step up efforts to safeguard the Union by developing sustainable plans to address various challenges and providing the public with information on opportunities arising from the Union.

The Vice-President also called on leaders and staff of the ministry to develop sustainable plans for implementing the environmental protection and conservation agenda.

He urged them to make effective use of tree-planting campaigns and cleanliness initiatives in cities and towns by putting in place mechanisms that would help sustain the efforts.

He also stressed the importance of developing a specific plan to help citizens shift away from daily activities that contribute to environmental degradation.
