Nchimbi hails faith leaders for peace prayers

KIGOMA: CCM presidential running mate Ambassador Emmanuel Nchimbi has expressed gratitude to religious leaders across the country for their continued prayers for peace, unity and national stability ahead of the October 29th General Election.

Speaking during a campaign rally in Kakonko District, Kigoma Region, Amb Nchimbi acknowledged the pivotal role of religious leaders in fostering solidarity through their messages of peace.

“On behalf of myself and President Samia Suluhu Hassan, I thank all religious leaders for their unwavering prayers for the country. They continue to stress unity and love, which are the pillars of our development,” he said.

He reaffirmed that the ruling party CCM remains committed to safeguarding Tanzania’s core values peace, unity and love as championed by the nation’s founding fathers.

Commending the residents of Kakonko for their strong contribution to agriculture, Amb Nchimbi noted that approximately 85 out of every 100 residents in the area are engaged in farming.

Citing President Samia’s leadership over the past four and a half years, he said the sixth phase government has made remarkable strides in transforming agriculture into a cornerstone of the national economy, with the sector now contributing 26 per cent to GDP.

He highlighted key achievements, including subsidised fertiliser distribution increased from 363,000 tonnes to 848,000 tonnes, food production rose from 17 million tonnes to 22 million tonnes and meat exports grew from 92 tonnes to 14,701 tonnes, boosting foreign exchange and improving pastoralists’ incomes.

“Our pastoralists now see the value in the livestock sector. In the next five years, the government will ensure all livestock keepers have access to vaccines, veterinary medicines and technical support,” he said.

Amb Nchimbi outlined a series of upcoming projects aimed at further boosting productivity and service delivery in Kakonko.

They include construction of three irrigation schemes, large dams, deep wells and grain warehouses.

Others are construction of four new primary schools, three new secondary schools, 107 classrooms in existing schools and 15 libraries and 10 hostels, especially for science students.

In health sector the CCM led-government will construct five health centres, nine dispensaries and recruit more specialist doctors at Kakonko District Hospital.

He also said the government will continue to improve connectivity of electricity and water.

Electricity has reached nearly all areas, with remaining hamlets to be connected soon, while safe and clean water access has increased from 61 per cent to 81 per cent due to projects like the Mboli Water Scheme.

Future plans include drilling deep wells in six villages, upgrading water schemes in five areas and expanding water supply networks for universal access, CCM Western Zone Campaign Coordinator, Mr Fadhil Maganya, praised the party’s leadership for presenting capable candidates, who are committed to addressing citizens’ challenges.

He also credited the sixth phase government for upgrading road infrastructure, which has significantly improved transportation across the region.

Kakonko CCM parliamentary aspirant, Mr Allan Mvano, lauded President Samia’s administration for injecting over 128.9bn/- into various development projects in the district over the past four years.
