NBC, Jubilee Allianz to provide insurance via TotalEnergies stations
DAR ES SALAAM: NATIONAL Commercial Bank (NBC) in collaboration with Jubilee Allianz Insurance have launched a special campaign “Bima Mazima” offering vehicle owners in Dar es Salaam various insurance services through TotalEnergies fuel stations.
Under the campaign, the TotalEnergies filling stations act as insurance agent of the two insurers, a motorist apart from filling his/her car, can also access insurance services.
NBC’s Director of Retail Banking Elibariki Masuke, representing the MD of NBC, Theobald Sabi, said the collaboration aims to provide protection against losses and damage caused by accidents, including fire, collision and overturning of such vehicles.
“We believe that through this partnership between NBC [bancassurance], Total Energies and Jubilee Allianz, we will provide affordable insurance services and bring relief to vehicle owners against various disasters,” he said.
Masuke added that NBC, through its Insurance Premium Financing product (NBC Insurance Loan), will also work with TotalEnergies and Jubilee Allianz to ensure that customers receive insurance even when they do not have the full amount to pay for it at once.
“This product allows vehicle owners to obtain insurance and pay it in four to ten instalments while receiving adequate insurance protection against disasters. Additionally, during this campaign, customers will receive free car inspections, and those who have insurance of 400,000/- or more through Jubilee Allianz will receive free roadside assistance (towing) and jump start challenges,” he said.
In turn, the Managing Director of Jubilee Allianz Insurance Company, Dipankar Charya, said the collaboration also includes accident insurance, which provides financial benefits in cases of injury, harm, or death resulting from accidents involving various modes of transportation, including buses, trains, planes, motorcycles and auto rickshaws.
He mentioned the types of insurance offered through the programme to include comprehensive Insurance, which is provided for 3.5 per cent of the vehicle’s value and a third-party insurance amounting to 118,000/-.
“For customers with a GPS tracking system for their vehicles, they will receive a 5.0 per cent discount on insurance costs,” he added.
Speaking at the event, Total Energies’ Director of Legal and Corporate Affairs, Gertrude Mpangile, said the three-month campaign will involve TotalEnergies stations located at Oysterbay, Morocco, Mlimani City, Kariakoo and Samora.
“At TotalEnergies, our mission is always to make it easier for our customers to access services. It is through this mission that we constantly strive to add various social and business services at our stations so that our customers not only buy fuel but also get their cars lubricated, serviced, washed and other financial services, supermarkets and now insurance,” she said.
