NBC Bank Awards Premier League Championship Trophy to Yanga

DAR ES SALAAM: The National Bank of Commerce (NBC), the principal sponsor of the NBC Premier League, has presented the championship trophy of the league to Dar es Salaam based Yanga SC, who clinched the title for the 2024/2025 season. This significant event also marked NBC’s pledge to further invest in player development.
The trophy ceremony unfolded at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, coinciding with the highly anticipated final match of the league between the champions and their fierce rivals, Simba SC, in a classic encounter known as the ‘Kariakoo Derby.’
In the decisive clash that determined the league champions, Yanga SC triumphed over Simba SC with a convincing 2-0 victory, securing their status as the official league champions and receiving the championship trophy from the bank.
The ceremony was graced by Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) First Vice President Athuman Nyamlani, alongside NBC’s Managing Director, Mr Theobald Sabi, where occasion drew thousands of passionate football fans to watch.
During the event, Sabi congratulated not only the champions but also all the participating clubs in the league. He expressed his admiration for the rapid advancements in football within the country, particularly highlighting the fierce competition that has become a hallmark of the league with each passing season.

Moreover, the bank arranged special transport for officials and select clients in Dar es Salaam to attend the match, set up large-screen viewing areas across the city and other regions, and deployed marketing teams to offer banking services at key locations and near Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
