Nasser dedicates Safari Rally success to Tanzanian fans

DAR ES SALAAM: AFTER delivering an outstanding performance in the Safari Rally of Kenya, Tanzanian driver Yassin Nasser has expressed his gratitude to his fans and everyone who supported and motivated him throughout the competition.

Kenya’s Safari Rally was the first round of the African Rally Championship (ARC) and, as well, the third round of the World Rally Championship (WRC).

Nasser, the lone Tanzanian envoy in the event, finished third overall in the ARC category while he claimed the 16th position in the WRC category.

Nasser shared his joy over his achievement and acknowledged the crucial role played by his supporters. “We are overwhelmed with joy and endless gratitude for your incredible support! Your energy and enthusiasm were evident throughout the event, and we are thrilled that you enjoyed the excitement of this rally,” he said.

He further emphasized that the presence of fans and other stakeholders contributed to the great success of the event while also praising the hospitality and kindness of the Kenyan people. “Your presence not only made this event a huge success but also showcased the warmth and generosity of the Kenyan people. Thank you for being part of this unforgettable experience! We can’t wait to do it again,” he added.

Additionally, Nasser extended his appreciation to all those who attended the rally, the organizers, officials, and everyone who contributed to making the event a success.

It should be noted that Nasser secured third place in the championship, demonstrating exceptional skills against international drivers.

Navigated by Ugandan co-driver Ally Katumba in a Ford Fiesta, Nasser finished third overall behind Jeremiah Wahome and Carl Tundo, both Kenyans.
