The President encouraged women to actively participate in the election for elective posts in the next General Election to ensure greater representation in the House of Representatives.

He also urged UWAWAZA to evaluate its 22-year performance during its existence to identify areas where the government support is needed to further empower women politically, economically and socially.

Dr Mwinyi assured the association members that his administration will continue to create opportunities for women, highlighting that those he has entrusted with responsibilities in various sectors have delivered commendably.

She added that the association has developed a strategic plan to ensure greater female representation in the House of Representatives, thereby strengthening their advocacy for women’s rights and welfare.

In a related development, President Mwinyi revealed that CCM is formulating a special strategic plan to bolster its affiliated organisations, ensuring their financial independence and the establishment of large-scale development projects.
