Mwinyi promotes trade, tourism in South Korea

SOUTH KOREA: ZANZIBAR President Dr Hussein Mwinyi has launched Tanzanite magazine, a new publication aimed at showcasing Tanzania’s investment, trade and tourism opportunities to South Korean audiences.

Dr Mwinyi launched the publication, the maiden publication produced by Tanzania’s Embassy in South Korea, yesterday as he concluded his official visit to the country, which focused on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding economic cooperation.

The magazine is intended to provide information about Tanzania’s economic progress, development initiatives and key national issues, while highlighting opportunities for investment and cooperation between the two countries.

During the launch, Dr Mwinyi commended Tanzania’s Ambassador to South Korea, Mr Noel Emmanuel Kaganda, and embassy officials for their efforts to promote the country’s international image and strengthen diplomatic relations.

He also praised the embassy for organising his visit, describing it as highly successful. The President’s visit included engagements aimed at attracting South Korean investors to Zanzibar, where he invited companies to partner with local businesses in developing strategic projects across the Isles.

Dr Mwinyi, who attended the magazine launch alongside his wife, Mama Mariam Mwinyi, also met Tanzanians studying in South Korea and urged them to remain focused on their education and prepare to contribute to national development after completing their studies.

“Our country, Zanzibar and Tanzania as a whole, needs you when you complete your studies. We expect you to bring back the knowledge, skills and expertise you are acquiring here to help develop Tanzania,” he said.
