Mwinyi calls Muslims to make good use of Ramadhan
ZANZIBAR: THE President of Zanzibar, Alhaj Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has called on Muslims to make good use of this Holy Month of Ramadhan by engaging in meaningful and beneficial acts that reflect Islamic principles.
Dr Mwinyi made these remarks during a Qur’an Memorization Competition held at Masjid Rahman in Mfenesini, Unguja where he addressed Muslim worshippers.
He emphasized that the practice of Qur’an memorization among young people is crucial, as it helps prepare future Sheikhs, Imams, and scholars.
Adding, he said these efforts should be sustained with the collective support of all Muslims to ensure their success.

Additionally, Alhaj Dr Mwinyi encouraged existing donors to increase their contributions towards supporting Qur’an memorization competitions and called upon new donors to step forward and support these initiatives.
He stated that maintaining this tradition would enable more young people to memorize the Qur’an, strengthening their faith and moral values.
Furthermore, President Mwinyi reminded worshippers of the importance of the unity, national peace, and cooperation in fostering the development of the Muslim community.
In retrospect, President Mwinyi urged Muslims to support Islamic institutions so that they could effectively carry out development projects for the benefit of the religion.
