Mwanga Hakika expands wings to Arusha

MWANGA Hakika Bank (MHB) has launched its new state-of-the-art branch in Arusha city over the weekend, as it strengthens its presence and brings its services closer to the people.

The Minister for Finance and Planning Dr Mwigulu Nchemba hailed the bank’s commitment and support to infrastructure projects and SME development in the country.

“I would like to acknowledge the efforts of the bank in putting in place to implement the financial inclusion framework and the national economic empowerment policy in practice,” he said.

The new branch brings the total number of the lender’s branches across the country to seven. Other branches are located in Dar es Salaam, Moshi, Dodoma, Mwanga and Same.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, the Bank Managing Director Mr Jagjit Singh said the move aimed at ensuring easy accessibility of the bank’s services to the customers in Arusha.

“This branch aims at bringing convenience to our customers as it is located at the city centre offering easy accessibility.

“It has state-of-the-art features including the Select Banking Lounge that will serve the affluent clients, modern facilities, bureau de change and this is all to ensure that our customers are enjoying the banking experience while visiting the branch,” he said.

The MD noted that the new branch seeks to tap into the vibrant economic activity in Arusha City, which is best known for tourism and its related hospitality services.

“The new branch is part of our strategy for turning around the bank and setting it on the growth path.

“In this regard, we are reinvigorating our physical presence. All this is geared towards ensuring that we consistently deliver an unmatched experience to our customers through bespoke financial solutions,” he added.

Mwanga Hakika Bank came into existence in 2020 as a result of merging three entities of Mwanga Community Bank Limited, Hakika Microfinance and EFC Tanzania Microfinance Bank. Last August it graduated to a full-fledged commercial bank.
