MUM marks 20th anniversary with free medical services to Tanzanians

MOROGORO: RESIDENTS Morogoro Municipality and the neighbouring areas have benefited from free medical services, being part of the events to mark the 20th anniversary of the Muslim University of Morogoro (MUM).

The two-day medical services are provided by experts from Muhimbili Orthopaedic Institute(MOI),  who provided consultation, treatment, and other medical services to the residents.

The free medical exercise officially began yesterday, June 18, 2025, at the MUM premises, and it will wind up tomorrow, June 20, 2025.

MOI’s neurosurgeon, Dr Zarina Shabhay, said the participation of a team from MOI helped to brighten the commemoration as it helped many to receive much sought-after medical services.

“The exercise offers an opportunity to get specialist treatment for several complications involving bones, brain, spinal cord, and nerves for free. If one fails to be treated here, we facilitate him or her to get better service in Dar es Salaam,” she said.
