Mukwala, Fadlu dominate May monthly awards

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) has named Simba SC striker Steven Mukwala as the Mainland Premier League Player of the Month for May, while Simba Head Coach Fadlu Davids has been awarded Coach of the Month.

Mukwala impressed the awards committee with his consistent form, edging out fellow finalists Jean Charles Ahoua (also of Simba) and Jafari Kibaya from Mashujaa FC.

The Ugandan forward scored three goals and recorded assistance in four matches played during the month.

For coach Fadlu, he guided Simba to a perfect run in May, winning all five matches played.

The victories came against Singida Black Stars (1-0), KMC (2-1), Pamba Jiji (5-1), Mashujaa (2-1) and JKT Tanzania (1-0).

Fadlu beat Miloud Hamdi of Young Africans and Rachid Touassi of Azam FC to claim the top coaching honour.

In other awards, Ashraf Omar, the manager of Major General Isamuhyo Stadium, was recognised as Best Stadium Manager of the Month, praised for his excellence in event coordination and infrastructure management.
