Muhongo urges collaboration on development projects

THE Member of Parliament for Musoma Rural, Prof Sospeter Muhongo, has urged stakeholders to collaborate in accelerating the completion of development projects within the constituency.

As part of fulfilling the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Election Manifesto for 2020-2025, the former Minerals and Energy Minister has organised a series of fundraising events in the constituency.

The first event was held on Tuesday in Nyambono village to support the construction of Nyabakangara Secondary School in Nyambono Ward.

According to a statement from the MP’s office, the fundraising event saw contributions from the residents of Nyambono village, CCM and its affiliate leaders, as well as development partners.

The event raised 448,000/- along with 204 bags of cement and other building materials.

“The initial contributions from the constituency fund have already resulted in the acquisition of 150 bags of cement and 3,700 bricks,” said Prof Mhongo.

He further added, “The villagers have agreed that construction should commence immediately, and our council must ensure we secure the necessary building plans.”

Nyambono Ward is made up of two villages and currently has only one secondary school. Once construction is completed, the ward will have two secondary schools.

The MP is set to host another fundraising event today for the construction of Kataryo Secondary School in Kataryo village, Tegeruka Ward.
