Muhimbili National Hospital alerts public over scammers

THE Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH) has alerted the general public to be aware of scammers pretending to raise funds to help patients admitted at the facility.
MNH’s relations unit issued the alert on Thursday after learning that there are some people who are donating to the said scammer thinking that they are helping children admitted at the cancer ward.
“The hospital’s management supports the efforts and donations from stakeholders including the good Samaritans. However there is a risk that some of those who raise the funds are not honest in fulfilling the respective goals,” the statement read.
The MNH however, advised the public and stakeholders who wish to collect various items with the aim of helping patients in the hospital to contact the institute’s relation department first through the provided phone number (0688 555111) for acquiring the assistance procedures.
