Msuva scores as Tanzania beat Uganda Cranes
Taifa Stars emerged 1-0 winners over Uganda in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, thanks to Simon Msuva’s second half goal.
The two East African sides met at Suez Canal Stadium in Egypt on Friday evening.
Msuva netted the solitary goal in the 69th minute after exploiting a cross from defender Dickson Job.
With the outcome, Stars have climbed to the second place of Group F with 4 points from three matches.
The two teams meet again at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday next week, another opportunity for the home side to grab maximum points.
As it stands, Algeria tops group F with 9 points after winning all their three matches while Stars are in second slot with 4 points.
Niger occupies third place with 2 points while Uganda sit at the base of the table courtesy of one point.
However, the positive results is a good reception for the newly Star’s Coach Adel Amrouche who already pledged to drive the team further into the contest.
