Msalato women support school feeding programme

DODOMA: WOMEN in Msalato Ward have stepped forward to support student nutrition by contributing food and labour to the feeding programme at Chikole Secondary School.

The initiative aims to ensure students receive adequate meals, promoting better health and improving their ability to concentrate in class.

Speaking about the effort, Msalato Ward Executive Officer Ms Devotha Selufala said women’s participation in community development plays a key role in improving student welfare and strengthening the education sector.

“We commend women from Msalato Ward for supporting the school feeding programme at Chikole Secondary School. Their involvement shows how communities can work together with schools to provide a conducive learning environment,” she said.

Ms Selufala noted that proper nutrition among students helps improve concentration, reduce absenteeism, and enhance academic performance. She added that the women have also been active in mobilising parents and community members to support the programme by contributing food items and volunteering their time.

Members of the women’s group said they will continue working closely with school leaders and parents to ensure the sustainability of the feeding initiative.

The management of Chikole Secondary School expressed gratitude to the women’s group and the Msalato community for their support, noting that community participation remains crucial in improving the quality of education for students.
