VICE President Dr Philip Mpango has directed the Police Force to find better ways of ensuring smooth movement of leaders’ convoys without causing inconveniences to other road users.
The VP directives follows complaints by Mwanza residents who were forced to walk long after the public transport and other vehicles services paralyzed for some hours to allow his convoy to pass on his first day of his tour of the region.
Both commuters and upcountry passengers became the victims of the situation, with those on their way from upcountry to Mwanza being the most affected.
Again, having waited for some hours, the residents opted to have a long walk, from Mwanza city center to various areas of the region, including Nyegezi.
The Daily News observed the situation (traffic jam) in some Mwanza city roads, even after the VP first day tour, till late evening.
