Morrison wary of new look Azam

YOUNG Africans winger Bernard Morisson has hinted the next NBC Premier League game against Azam will be tough but they are prepared to pocket all three points.

Yanga, the defending champions, have so far won both two Premier League games they have played.

They began their campaign with 2-1 win over Polisi Tanzania before sealing a 2-0 win over Coastal Union, both games were staged at Sheikh Ami Abeid Stadium.

They are now placed second behind their traditional rivals Simba, who also won two games, but superior goal average places Simba ahead.

Simba sealed a 2-0 win over Geita Gold before picking a hefty 3-0 win over Kagera Sugar at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

Speaking in Dar es Salaam recently, Morrison said they are aware of Azam’s threat and that is why they have never rested during this time international break.

“I think everyone is getting himself prepared, everyone is getting ready for the game that is why we are here. We were thinking we are going to get some days off but because of the  high intensity of the game we need to get  ourselves prepared that is why we are here this morning.

“It is going to be a big game but you know Yanga is big club with so much quality and big players who are ready for anything. I don’t think it is going to be a problem for the team. Everyone knows what it has to be a game between Yanga and Azam and everyone is getting ready for that,” said Morrison.

Morisson went on to describe the team’s objective in CAF Champions League matches and the game against South Sudan’s Zalan in particular saying they intend to perform well and reach into competition’s group stage.

“Yanga’s main objective is towards the Champions League. That game is very important and everyone in the club is aware of the importance of the game. So we need to fight so that we can get into group stage,” he said.

Yanga will face Azam at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on September 6th this year  and on September 10th , they will kick start their CAF Champions league campaign against South Sudan’s Zalan.
