MOI Specialists pitch a camp in Ifakara for treatment of bones, brain and spinal cord

IFAKARA: THE CAMP of specialist and specialist treatment of bones, brain and spinal cord from the Muhimbili Orthopedic and Brain Institute (MOI) has officially begun at the Mt. Francis Referral Hospital, Ifakara District in Morogoro Region.

Speaking during the launch of the camp, the Executive Director of Saint Francis Hospital, WOI. Solanus Fussy, thanked the MOI leadership for bringing these important services closer to the people of Ifakara and surrounding areas.

He said the presence of these services has helped reduce the challenges for citizens who were forced to travel to Dar es Salaam to receive specialist treatment of bones, brain, spinal cord and nerves.

“I am happy with the presence of the MOI Institute in our district as it has made it easier for citizens to access services, especially those with bone, brain, spinal cord and nerve problems,” he said.

In addition, he congratulated the citizens who came from various areas to receive these services and encouraged others to use this opportunity to receive treatment from specialist doctors, general practitioners and health professionals from MOI.

For his part, the MOI Outpatient Services Manager, Marry Chandeu, said the institution is prepared to provide services to the citizens of Ifakara and surrounding areas throughout the camp.

She explained that the services provided include treatment of bones, brain, spinal cord, nerves as well as internal diseases.

Ms Chandeu added that the camp also involved specialists in physical therapy, prosthetics, nutrition and pharmaceutical services to ensure that citizens receive complete medical services.

The medical camp started  on May 25, 2026 and is expected to conclude on May 29, 2026.
