Mloganzila to pitch a camp for patients with kidney complications   

DAR ES SALAAM: MUHIMBILI National Hospital–Mloganzila has organized a special camp to create and repair blood vessels (Arterio-Venous Fistula Creation) for patients with kidney complications.

Special camps will run from February 14 to 18, 2026, to improve access to quality and safe blood vessel services.

Speaking about the camp, Surgeon, Dr David Antanamsu said the camp will involve local experts, where patients who have not yet been implanted with blood vessels as well as those who have been implanted for a long time but the vessels have failed to work, will benefit from the service.

Dr Antanamsu noted that the creation of blood vessels has many benefits, including reducing the risk of infection, increasing the duration of use of the vein, and reducing the cost of changing the balloon (catheter) frequently. This situation contributes to improving the health and quality of life of patients.

By organizing the camp, Muhimbili National Hospital-Mloganzila continues to strengthen the provision of primary and secondary care services in the country, introduce innovative and productive services for the community, and support the efforts of the Sixth Phase Government to bring health services closer to the citizens while emphasizing the quality, safety and effectiveness of the services provided.
