Misugusugu WMA increases its inspection capacity from 8 to 60 tankers per day

KIBAHA: THE Misugusugu Weights and Measures Verification Centre, operated by the Weights and Measures Agency (WMA) in Pwani Region, has increased its capacity to inspect fuel tankers from eight to 60 vehicles per day, making it easier for traders and transporters to access services promptly.
The centreβs Manager, Mrisho Mandari, said its primary responsibility is to verify tankers transporting petrol and diesel from Tanzania and neighbouring countries, including Zambia, Malawi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda and Burundi.
Mandari said the services were previously provided at the Ilala centre, which had the capacity to inspect only eight vehicles per day. However, the government constructed the new Misugusugu facility to expand service capacity and reduce waiting times.
He said the centre can now inspect up to 60 vehicles daily, enabling transporters from different regions to access verification services and resume their operations with minimal delays.
Raymond George, from Abood Company in Morogoro, said he was satisfied with the services he received after visiting the centre. He encouraged other transporters from upcountry regions to use the facility to streamline their operations.
