MISS WORLD 2024: ATCL sponsors Miss Tanzania’s trip to India
DAR ES SALAAM: The Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL) has entered into a contract with The Look Company Limited to sponsor Miss Tanzania 2022, Halima Kopwe trip to India.
The Tanzania’s peagant is set to participate in the upcoming Miss World Competition 2024 in India.
In a statement released by ATCL’s Managing Director, Engineer Ladislaus Matindi on Tuesday, the national carrier airline expressed its commitment to supporting initiatives by the Ministry of Culture, Arts, and Sports in promoting youth talents.
As a part of the sponsorship, Halima Kopwe will be provided with a business class flight ticket from Dar es Salaam to Mumbai, India, where the Miss World 2024 competition will take place.
Engineer Matindi highlighted that this collaboration reflects ATCL’s dedication to showcasing the unique services offered by Africa’s most loved airline, which has received various awards both within and outside the country for two consecutive years.
The company is optimistic that this partnership will not only boost Halima’s morale during the competition but also inspire more youth in Tanzania to pursue their dreams.
Halima Kopwe, crowned Miss World Tanzania 2022 on May 20, 2022, in Dar es Salaam, has been preparing to represent Tanzania at the Miss World 2024 competition in India.
The statement further emphasized that beyond promoting Tanzania’s attractions, Halima Kopwe will also serve as an ambassador for Air Tanzania at the Miss World 2023 competition.
The Miss World pageant, established in 1951 in the United Kingdom by Eric Morley, is the oldest existing international beauty pageant.
Julia Morley, Eric Morley’s widow, has co-chaired the pageant since his death in 2000.
The current Miss World is Karolina Bielawska of Poland, who was crowned on March 16, 2022, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
