Ministry establishes four beef cattle fattening incubation hubs

THE Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries has established four incubation hubs for training youths how to manage beef cattle fattening projects as the state eyes to increase employment opportunities through the livestock sector.

The Minister of Livestock and Fisheries, Mashimba Ndaki revealed this on Wednesday when he was briefing reporters over the project as he encouraged youths to apply for programme which will be carried in Tanga, Mwanza and Kagera regions.

The Minister said it was President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s interest to see that the group is empowered for self-employment through the livestock, given the fact that the sector has so many opportunities to grab.

At the established hubs, the Minister said, youths will be trained practically on various activities including animal husbandry to gain skills which will enable them to employ themselves.

“A total of 240 young people who are set to be enrolled for the programme will be educated on how to do commercial breeding…,” he noted.

The Minister added that the commercial breeding would help local industries to get raw materials while the established centres act as a catalyst for revolutionizing the sector.

Additionally, Minister Ndaki directed youths, who aspire to join the programme visit the Ministry’s website to download forms which should be submitted by September 7, 2022.

According to him, applicants should be citizens of Tanzania,  graduates of veterinary training at the certificate, diploma and degree levels from recognized academic institutions.

Furthermore, the applicants should be between 18-30 years of age.
