THE Inter-Ministerial Sports Federation Games (SHIMIWI) enters the second day today after being launched in Tanga on Monday.
This year’s Games also involving various teams from government institutions bring on grounds and courts athletes playing netball, tug-of-war and football for both men and women.
In tug of war for men, the Judiciary team defeated the Human Rights Commission 2-0 in a game held at Usagara Secondary School grounds while Ikulu beat Dodoma Regional Commissioner’s Office 2-0 and the Ministry of Construction and Transport saw off the Ethics Commission of Public Leaders by 2-0.
Other teams in the men’s game were the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Sports that beat Kigoma team on walkover as Bunge team defeated Manyara 2-0 while Prime Minister Office drew with Tanga.
The Ministry of Land, Housing and Settlement beat the Attorney General’s Office 2-0 and the Ministry of Internal Affairs beat the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology 2-0.
In the women’s category, the team of the Department of Judiciary drew with the Regional Head of Singida.
While the team of the Ministry of Land, Housing and Housing Development won 2-0 after the team of the Governor of Dar es Salaam did not arrive at the stadium and the team of the Ministry of Agriculture has drawn the team of the Ministry of Social Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups by 2-0.
Other women’s tug-of-war games saw teams of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation defeating the Medical Stores Department 2-0.
Also, the team of the Ministry of Constitution and Legal Affairs L defeated the Shinyanga Regional Commissioner’s Office 2 -0.
And the Dodoma Regional Commissioner Office team won 2-0 after the Ruvuma team failed to arrive at the venue.
Also, the Treasury team beat the Mbeya RC Office 2-0, the Ministry of Construction and Transport (Transport Sector) beat the Ministry of Health 2-0.
On the other hand, the team of the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries has drawn the team of the Human Rights Commission by 2-0.
Other games played include a Netball game where Ikulu beat the National Food Storage Agency (NFRA) by 42-13.
