Minister for Health, Ummy Mwalimu has asked the President of the Henry Jackson Foundation Medical Research International (HJFMRl), Major General Joseph Caravalho to support Community Health Workers (CHWs) in the fight against HIV/AIDS and employment.
She made the request on Tuesday at a meeting with the HJFMRl President saying that the CHWs also need more education on communicable diseases, non-communicable diseases and nutrition.
However, Minister Ummy thanked the HJFMRl boss for the various aid that they have been rendering to the country’s health sector.
On his part, Dr Caravalho promised continued support in the country’s health sector saying that HIV education is still going on.
HJFMRI facilitates medical research by providing responsive, flexible support services in managing surveillance efforts and executing clinical research across the globe.
The HJFMRI assists with the implementation of medical programs, provides scientific and technical personnel as well as administrative and logistical support.
“We also provide support services in program operations, technology, sub-award management, regulatory compliance, and program staffing,” a statement from the HJFMRI read.
