Minister of Culture, Artists and Sports, Mohamed Mchengerwa has congratulated Twiga Stars for clinching a third slot in the concluded COSAFA Women’s Championship in South Africa.
The Tanzania’s ladies won 2-1 against their counterparts from Namibia to claiming the position after failing to retain the crown.
“I congratulate the national women soccer team for taking a third position after beating Namibia 2-1 in South Africa,” the Sports Ministry tweeted a congratulatory poster.
Tanzania’s Twiga Stars hopes of retaining the Hollywoodbets COSAFA Women’s Championship title vanished in a a thin air after lost 2-1 to the newly crowned Zambia ladies in a semi-final encounter.
Zambia won the title after beating hosts South Africa 1-0.
