TABORA: MINISTER for Health Jenista Mhagama has urged the residents of Simbodamalu Village in Uyui District, Tabora Region, especially pregnant women, to properly utilise a village dispensary, urging them to care for it so that it can continue providing health services.
The minister made the call when speaking recently during the inauguration of the Simbodamalu dispensary, maternity and pediatric child wards in the Lutende Ward, which will assist in providing health services to villagers.
“Pregnant women, please utilise this dispensary for your clinic visits so that we can continue to reduce maternal and child deaths, as well as fistula because this is the commitment of President Samia Suluhu Hassan,” said Ms Mhagama.
Moreover, while visiting the maternity and child ward at Lutende village, Ms Mhagama pledged to donate four modern delivery beds, mattresses and bed sheets to ensure continuous provision of services.

After inspecting the health worker’s house at the Lutende Health Centre, the minister called on health sector stakeholders, particularly World Vision Tanzania, to contribute an additional 50m/- to ensure completion of the construction, should any challenges arise.
The Simbodamalu dispensary, the maternity and pediatric ward at Lutende were constructed through collaboration with the government, the local community and health sector partners, including World Vision Tanzania.
In another development, the minister promised the residents that an ambulance would be provided to facilitate emergency services, particularly for pregnant women, as President Samia’s goal is to improve the health of her citizens.
